Nathan Stephens - Welsh Paralympian

Nathan Stephens regularly drops in at APC for strength & conditioning coaching from APC Director of Coaching, Mark Lewin.

Nathan is one of the World's top throws athletes, specialising in shot, javelin and discus. As one of Wales' premiere athletes, Nathan clearly demonstrates that determination, genetic potential and sheer hard work can place you firmly on a World-class podium.

Breanne Loucks - Welsh Golfer

Breanne Loucks, following a wonderful 2008, has finished in 12th place (the top 30 places being granted full category status enabling them to play in the majority of EUROPEAN EVENTS), in Spain at La Manga Qualifying School for the Ladies European Tour, and subsequently earns her Pro Card.

Mark Lewin, Director of Coaching at the Athlete Performance Centre, comments "Breanne is the epitomy of professionalism, a talented young athlete with an expert eye for detail, relentless enthusiasm and passion for her golf and is thoroughly deserving of winning professional status".

Breanne regularly trains at the Athlete Performance Centre under the guidance of Mark Lewin who forms part of her coaching team, including Physiotherapist Barry Richards and Golf Coach Paul Williams. Working together to ensure that Breanne receives first-class support and coaching to maximise her potential and forge a promising career.

Fights for Deva Police Community Boxing Club

Joe won the Welsh title on Thursday 12th February against the current champion in a blisteringly intense final. His opponent provided high quality opposition (a string of Welsh titles and Commonwealth Jnr Silver medal), with Joe a relative unknown quantity, prevailing following some intense exchanges.

Joe's trademark defence structured, explosive style caused frustration as his ability to strike and move, spin away from heavy blows and counter-punch proved highly effective. We watch, with great interest, his progression in the championships with his next bout in Bristol on February 28th.

Mark Lewin, Director of Coaching at APC and Joe's Strength coach, comments "Being ringside with Joe was a fantastic experience in a tough venue with only myself, Joe's dad and Deva Boxing Centre Head Coach Mark Shepard present against a massive crowd. Joe displayed the emergence of real class with a style of boxing synonymous at Deva; fluid, structured, fast, movement based and explosive. His application of effort in training is second to none and to say I am immensely proud of Joe achieving his first championship win is the understatement of the century!!!!
