APC provides coaching to Ellesmere Rugby, Tennis and Cricket
Academies from Head Coach, Mark Lewin. Mark comments "the
facilities at Ellesmere are second to none and the school's
commitment to providing pupils with first-class coaching via its
Academy system has proven to be enormously successful. Having
started with the rugby academy back in 2003 and watched it grow
under the dedicated stewardship of Paul Goodwin, it has been a
pleasure to provide coaching support alongside the teaching
staff at the facility.
Since APC was established, the college makes use of our
expertise 'in-house' throughout the academic year, preparing
players to move more efficiently and at greater speed via our
Attack Training pitch/court conditioning system and also with
term-by-term visits to our performance centre.
We have developed a proud tradition with Ellesmere College and
watching young athletes develop and progress through County
level sporting systems through to a growing crop of
representative, semi-professional and full-time professional
sports athletes is an endeavour that causes great pride. Playing
a part in the meaningful development of any young sports athlete
is a privilege, but the additional benefit of working via an
Academy system clearly demonstrates the extra benefit of an
all-encompassing approach to athlete centred development".
